Veterinary school is a four year program that will teach students how to care for and treat a variety of animals. In order to actually become a veterinarian, you must complete veterinary school and receive their doctoral degree and then pass the North America Veterinary license exam to receive accreditation. There are currently 28 veterinary schools in the United States and 5 in Canada. With all of the various veterinary schools, there is a significant amount of variety in requirements.

ENGLISH
A total of 12 quarter units (or 8 semester units) must be taken to meet this requirement. One course must be in English composition. The composition requirement may also be met by the English Advanced Placement Exam, if your score is three or higher. Other courses may include lower- or upper-division composition, linguistics, communication, classics, English, rhetoric, speech or literature. The Entry-Level Writing Exam may not be used to satisfy this requirement. HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES This requirement may be met by selecting courses in a variety of areas.
